Painting in Progress

On Tuesday it will be two weeks since painting started. The house looks so much brighter now and I am really happy with the paint colours I chose (especially the architraves).

Paint Colours:
Walls (living area, kitchen, hallway, laundry, toilet, bathroom and garage wall): Dulux Fair Bianca Half
Architraves (living area, kitchen, hallway, laundry, toilet, bathroom and garage wall): Dulux Hog Bristle Quarter
Ceilings (throughout house): Ceiling White
Both Bedroom Walls: Dulux Hog Bristle (full strength)
Bedroom Architraves: Dulux Antique White

The photo on the right was taken late at night with little lighting so the walls look much darker.

Dining area. My lounge suite arrived last week and is waiting patiently in my kitchen.

Lounge room. So much paint!

Choosing Vinyl Planks for the Lounge:
I looked at about 20 samples of vinyl planks, which meant quite a few trips to carpet/floor stores. Pictured is the last lot of samples I borrowed. Finally, after weeks of struggling to find a shade that would look nice with my tiles, I found 'the one'. Special thanks to Laura, Carmel and Mum for helping me find and choose the right one.

Meet, the chosen one. Also a nice close up of the quarter Hog Bristle architraves.

Entrance to the Master Bedroom. Linen closet on the left and bathroom on the right.

Home Owner

I recently purchased my  first home,  a two bedroom town house. I thought my blog would be a more visually friendly space to share photos than Facebook. I knew when I purchased the house that I wanted to make a few changes before moving in. I decided to get the interior professionally painted, new carpet in the bedrooms, vinyl planks in the lounge (hopefully), and the tiles and grouting cleaned. I would also like to change the big round lights in the living room (which collect bugs). Ideally, I would like to get new curtains too.

The photos with furniture and 'reddish' carpet were taken with my not-so-photo-friendly Nokia phone the first time I inspected the house. They therefore have the previous tenants furniture in them. The photos without furniture were taken once the tenant had vacated and the carpet had been ripped up.

View from the front door entrance. Down the hall, first door on the right, is the laundry, second door on the right is the toilet. The door straight down the hall is the second bedroom. Turn left down the hallway and on the left is the linen closet, on the right is the bathroom, and straight ahead is the master bedroom.

The kitchen cabinets are a very light shade of mustard (I considered painting the cabinets white but painting over laminate is costly and the paint chips easily).

The bathroom is situated in-between the master bedroom and second bedroom. There are two entrances to the bathroom - a sliding door in the master (used to take this pic) and a door in the hallway.

Which Watch?

I want to purchase a Fossil watch but am feeling indecisive. Should I go with the more plain, practical option on the left, or go a bit more bling (right)?
Thoughts???

Fashion Inspiration - Aria Montgomery

Aria montage from That Samantha Girl.
I absolutely adore the character Aria on PLL. I love her quirky style, which I think is a mix between grungy, vintage, punk and girly. My favourite outfits from this montage are the burgundy dress - fourth outfit top left, the stripy top and hat look - second from the bottom left, the lace looks - both bottom left and the red-ish dress - bottom middle.

I loved this outfit and was able to find a similar hat and top.

Morgan and Taylor Brim with Bow Hat $79.95 from Myer

Glamorous Stripe Sleeveless Blouse £7.00 from Republic

Matilda Cameo Necklace $16.00 from Boohoo.com

I know this necklace is very different to the one Aria is wearing, but I just think it fits her and this particular look. Oh, and I like it :)

Black and White Stripes

I stumbled across this Boutique by Jaeger Alexa Sweater in Fine Stripe for $227.71 on ASOS's website and realised I own something similar, purchased for a fraction of the price.

This is a photo of me with my cousin's baby, wearing a stripe pullover from Sussans (from memory, about $70) (sized up to XL) and a black floppy hat (about $20) from Target.

Perfume Pendant

I ordered this Gogo Philip Perfume Bottle Pendant $12.20 from ASOS last night. Excited about next weeks post!

Celebrity Fashion Inspiration - Sophia Bush and Troian Bellisario from PLL

Sophia Bush attended the InStyle Summer Soiree mixing Ted Baker's colorful separates, Nola Singer statement jewels and a striped Edie Parker clutch.  I love the colour yellow and floral, so this was a 'win win' outfit for me. The soft waves make her look slightly more casual, avoiding the 'too put together' look. Her shoes appear to have a lace panel, which I also adore. (Picture and outfit information from Look of the Day on Instyle's website).

I adore Troian Bellisario and her character Spencer, on Pretty Little Liars. I have watched many interviews of Troian on YouTube. She always presents intelligently, with humour and originality. I especially like the clips where she sings, particularly the song, 'Skinny Soul'. Her musical partner, Shane Coffey, is equally talented. Troian's outfit choices for the Teen Choice Awards have been stunning. Off the carpet, she dresses for comfort and rocks a more laid-back look, which I also like, especially her fedora.
